Seeking: Talent & Training (HR) Coordinator
Reports to: HR Generalist
Organization: Real Food For Real Kids
Location: East end Toronto (Lake Shore Blvd E / Port Lands)

Hours: Full Time: Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm

Compensation:

  • 45k-55k, dependent on experience

  • RRSP matching

A glimpse at the role:

Our Talent & Training department is growing and we are looking for a dynamic emerging HR professional to join our team as a Talent & Training Coordinator!

The Talent and Training Coordinator is energized by employee engagement and talent management. This position is responsible for day-to-day HR administration, recruitment & selection, employee onboarding, and the coordination and tracking of training systems across the organization. This position requires someone with a proactive and positive attitude and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. In addition to possessing good judgment and developed problem solving skills, the Talent and Training Coordinator must possess a high degree of initiative and exercise discretion when handling details of a confidential and critical nature. This position requires a team player with strong organizational skills, a great sense of humour and the ability to interact professionally at all times with all employees.

Some of the things you’ll get paid to do:

RECRUITMENT & SELECTION - 50% of role

  • Create and update Job Descriptions and Job Postings based on established roles and competencies

  • Screen and evaluate candidate profiles (cover letters, resumes) and extended next step invitations to qualified candidates

  • Ensure screening materials (screening questionnaire, phone scripts, video interview questions and case interview question) are updated, role-appropriate, and properly implemented in the process

  • Schedule and participate in candidate interviews along with a hiring manager

  • Assist in evaluating candidate’s complete application profile, including interview responses and make hiring recommendation

  • Track posting of current job openings and research new job boards and places to post

  • Maintain connections with community organizations and employment agencies that could be talent sources

  • Explore various subsidy opportunities

  • Liaise with recruiters (if applicable to role) to help source candidates

  • Draft and extend employment offers to success candidates

  • Assist in the facilitation of the employee onboarding process (prepare onboarding packages, coordinate the collection onboarding materials, conduct onboarding sessions and welcome tours)

TRAINING, DEVELOPMENT, & PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT

  • Research and develop training programs that will encourage optimal employee and departmental performance

  • Coordinate and facilitate various training initiatives across the organization

  • Assign HR, Health & Safety and Development training

  • Design a company-wide training tracking system

  • Develop a Employee Educational Assistance Policy

  • Complete research on employment and training subsidies and grants and rank in applicability

  • Apply for Talent & Training funding

  • Be well versed and up-to-date with Talent Management literature

  • Assist with the development,implementation and tracking of the performance review program

HR ADMINISTRATION

  • Prepare and manage employee records, databases, files, and confidential documents

  • HR data tracking and analytics

  • Contribute to the upkeep of the Employee Handbook and company policies and procedures

  • Keep up-to-date with HR and Employment Standards legislation

  • Research best practices in HR and recommend improvements to existing practices

  • Practice discretion and confidentiality of employee information according to privacy and employment legislations

  • Cultivate positive employee relations through support and responses to HR inquiries

  • HR special projects

  • Other HR administration tasks as required

Required Education and Experience:

  • College diploma/certification or University degree in Human Resources or related field

  • Minimum of 1+ year of full cycle recruitment experience

  • Minimum 2+ year of HR experience

  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Apps

  • CHRP is an asset

Nice-to-haves:

  • French language skills
