RAINScapeTO is part of a growing movement to re-pattern the design of urban green spaces. We create water-friendly gardens that emphasize the importance of rain garden landscaping strategies to help prevent flooding and water pollution. We are a social enterprise that values and respects the intrinsic connection of Indigenous peoples to their land as well as their rich ecological knowledge base. We are committed to developing employment opportunities that uphold and nurture land-based stewardship in an urban setting. Given that the incumbent of this position will oversee a team of Indigenous trainees, we enthusiastically encourage qualified Indigenous candidates to apply.
We offer installation of pollinator, edible, rain and forest gardens, rainwater harvesting systems, bioswales, and more while creating a beautiful amenity for local food production, heritage seeds, and the use of native plants as vital additions to the urban landscape to preserve habitat and clean water. Workshops and community projects promote neighbourhood action for green infrastructure and low impact gardening practices. We aim to provide training and employment opportunities for members of the Indigenous community that foster a connection to the land and ways to help care for it.
The ideal candidate must have strong horticultural skills, be able to deliver excellent customer service, have leadership and interpersonal skills and have experience in the design and construction of landscaping solutions.
The Eco-landscaping Lead is the bridge between a team of Eco-landscapers and RainscapeTO’s Management.
