At Matthew Gove & Co. we design, install and care for contemporary, naturalistic gardens in the Caledon and Orangeville area. Now in our eleventh year of business we are happy to be seeking positive, hardworking and reliable gardeners. The current available position is for 40hrs+/week, ’til late November.

Landscape Gardener Responsibilities:

Perform manual duties to install and maintain well cared for and attractive landscaped areas for residential and select commercial properties.

• Spread soil and mulch, plant grasses, perennials, shrubs and trees; and perform other duties to assist in the maintenance and construction of landscapes;
• Spring and Fall clean-up, weed gardens, prune shrubs and trees; renovate gardens, install new gardens and perform other maintenance duties as directed by our crew leader and head gardener
• Follow all health & safety regulations including wearing appropriate protective equipment.
• Load and unload tools and equipment from the truck
• Clean working areas and maintain tools and equipment.
• Work under the supervision of our Crew Leader, following instructions and daily schedules.
• Appropriately use and care for tools & equipment including shovels, rakes, hammers, wheelbarrows, picks, pruning shears, handheld and hose-end sprayers, saws, soil cultivators, water sprinklers, string & hedge trimmers, blowers, etc.

Preferred candidates will have 2 or more years professional experience, but consideration will be given to those who have a working knowledge of perennial plants, know they’re way around gardening tools and like to work hard outdoors in all types of weather.

Reliable transportation to our office near Erin, Ontario is required as we are based from a rural property.
