Position: Gardener / Horticulture Technician
Organization: The Cultivated Garden
Location: Toronto/North York, Ontario

The office is located near Weston Road and the 401. Accessible via TTC - with parking available on site.

We are looking for people who are passionate about plants, and who understand the beneifts of spending time in nature. Someone who believes in the work they do as a gardener, taking pride in the fact that our client's lives will be lifted by the gardens we create for them. The Cultivated Garden is a Provincial and National Award winning Garden Maintenance Company working in Toronto. We maintain, renovate and plant gardens of all types and prepare seasonal plantings and urns. We do not provide lawn care services. 

Job Description:

  • The role of Crew member is to maintain and enhance client gardens using sound horticulture practices.
  • Preferred candidates will meet the following criteria:


  • Meets the company’s standard for quality, detailed garden maintenance and services. 
  • Reports for work everyday on time and properly prepared with respect to food, clothing, work boots etc. – We start at 7:15 sharp.
  • Engages in all assigned tasks in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Follows all policies and procedures and health and safety regulations set out by The Cultivated Garden.
  • Ability to work in outdoor environments in a diverse assortment of weather conditions i.e. wet, cold, hot etc.
  • Have the physical ability and strength to perform all duties common to the grounds maintenance and planting. 
  • Displays a professional and respectful attitude towards clients and co-workers at all times.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work effectively both as a team member or independently.
  • Demonstrates a willingness to learn.
  • Able to work 40-50 hours per week.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Ability to take instruction, and effectively manage time.
  • Be knowledgeable about plants and their culture.
  • Horticultural knowledge including proper planting practices and an ability to prune hedges, trees and shrubs is an asset.


  • English Language
  • College Certificate or Relevant Horticultural Experience

Salary: $18.00 to $22.00 /hour
