We are looking for a candidate to work with the Partnerships Team Lead to develop and implement our partnerships and funding strategies. We are looking for someone who will bring all their creativity and passion to the challenge; someone who is a facilitator of philanthropy, a connector of people. You will help us to recruit new partners from diverse geographies, communities and sectors and support them in their journey with us.

Key tasks and responsibilities

  • Manage scholarship proposals, intake and process (agreements, applications, invoicing), in coordination with appropriate staff teams;
  • Reporting and record keeping (post-expedition reports/any other reporting outside of expedition that may be required i.e. NSERC, delegations);
  • Support the Team Lead in the coordination of existing and future scholarship partners and airlines to confirm support;
  • Assist with the coordination of Expedition scholarship targets and student selection process;
  • Assist with identifying new possible funders (for both scholarships and program/general funding);
  • Ongoing partnership relationship maintenance;
  • Maintain and update partner files (paper & electronic);
  • Resolve issues in a timely, proactive and donor-focused manner as they pertain to receipting, and database errors;
  • Support the upkeep of donor data in support of the organization’s funding strategies;
  • Perform data querying and reporting functions to support and enhance donor engagement efforts.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Demonstrate 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience;
  • Completed a College or university-level program or have relevant lived and/or work experience;
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and building relationships with partners, funders and donors;
  • Experience using a CRM, tracking and maintaining database information (Salesforce, Copper, etc.);
  • Administrative experience (mail merge, business letters, data entry);
  • Data management experience (analysis, queries, data pulls);
  • Bilingual French/English or Inuktitut/English is an asset.

  • People person with effective and demonstrated interpersonal and relationship building skills;
  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit demonstrating a strong capacity to work independently and collaboratively;
  • Great communicator with excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Knowledge of, and experience with, the Canadian Arctic and Indigenous culture an asset;
  • An alum of the SOI Foundation is an asset.

Position Details

This is a full-time, 18-month contract to fill a maternity leave, with the potential for further extension. This position is based in Ottawa, Ontario.
