Position: Full Time Farm Helper
Location: Richmond, Greater Vancouver BC


Fantastic opportunity for anyone who enjoys long-term planning and working outdoors with animals and market garden in all weather conditions. You must be someone considering a career in the field of animal and/or vegetable production.

Our 15 acre peri-urban farm in Richmond BC is looking for full time Farm Helper to run a mixed farming operation together with a farm supervisor. Successful Full Time Candidate must have an interest in animals: goats, chickens, dogs and knowledge in farm operation. The candidate should have a positive and outgoing attitude, excellent attention to detail, an ability to work independently on assigned duties. Most importantly, a willingness to learn from others and being a strong team player are important attributes.

Job Description:

As a Farm Helper you will work as an integral part of the larger farm operations team. Though much of your work will be carried out independently, many of your activities will intersect with various aspects of this mixed farming operation and you will be required to coordinate with other members of the farm operations team.

Farm helper’s duties will relate directly to the care and management of livestock with a variety of animals: goats, chickens, dog, and vegetable production including planting, weeding, harvesting and washing.

Specifics include but are not limited to:

  • Understanding and carrying out specifically designed operating procedures;
  • Communicating orally and in writing with farm management and other team members;
  • Periodically setting up rotational pasture with electric fences;
  • Performing daily chores, for example: animal health care, feeding, barn work and eggs collection.
  • Testing and properly maintaining electric fencing.
  • Other farm work assigned by the farm supervisor.


  • High School Graduate, post-secondary education is an asset;
  • Previous work in farming or landscaping environment is an asset;
  • An excellent level of physical fitness is required.


Full time position offered. The first 6 months are probationary and include reviews of your performance.


Salary commensurate with experience and performance.

Full time position could lead to on farm accommodation.
