Wanted: Foster parents / homes
Terms: generous, tax-free per diem, full training, more (see below)
Organization: Affinity Family Homes
Location: anywhere in southern Ontario
Affinity Family Homes, a small, private family run foster agency is looking for compassionate foster parents to provide care for children and youth in the their homes.
Our parents should have the ability to work in a team environment, be open minded and flexible when developing and implementing strategies to affect change, and have a genuine desire to make a difference in a child or youth's life. A well developed sense of humour also seems to be a trait most successful foster parents possess!
Nature/outdoor-oriented families, urban and rural homesteads and family farms are especially welcome to apply.
Foster parents can be male or female, single, married, divorced or widowed. We welcome those from all socio-economic, cultural and religious backgrounds. Gender identification and sexual orientation are not issues and we actively promote diversity. Foster parents must be 21 years of age, have a bedroom in their home for a foster child or youth, live in Ontario, and may be required to provide evidence of citizenship. As the application process moves forward we will also require police and child welfare agency background checks, medicals, references, etc. for all adults living in the home.
You would be surprised at those who make great foster parents. Most successful foster parents are curious about life, love the company of children and youth, have a commitment to their communities, look forward to challenges, are able to work with support teams and, not surprisingly, laugh at our cheesy humour!
We offer a generous, tax-free per diem, full training (generally in your home) and reimburse all costs associated with the application process.
Fostering is a rewarding career choice that allows you the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children, youth and families in your community.
We would love to hear from you!
