Housing: Staff are expected to camp in the field on a regular basis. For non-camping days and weekends spent on site we have some basic on-site staff accommodations available. The new gatehouse will have shared washrooms, showers and basic cooking facilities. Wage – Seasonal Staff: $1600 bi-weekly based on a 40-hour work week. Reports to Park Operations Manager.

In addition to wages, employees will be provided with shirts, hats and gear for fieldwork. Staff are expected to provide their own personal camping gear and all food. We will provide employees with a detailed list of any gear that they are required to provide themselves.

  • Multi-day trail sweeping or maintenance missions in the field, covering up to 80 km in 5 days while carrying personal camping gear and basic hand tools
  • Leading a team of junior rangers or working with other rangers to fully construct a new trail, as per guidelines, without supervision or follow up

  • Strong in communications skills and possess an outgoing personality as there will be regular contact with other rangers, guests, contractors and on-site management
  • Strong in observational skills and attention to detail – you will be the eyes and ears in your area of operation, take initiative in areas that need attention and report issues that can’t be addressed immediately
  • Punctual and responsible with time management – you will be in the field most of the time, if you are offsite and unable to stay in the field, it will be your responsibility to arrive at the mission site at the start of the workday
  • Able to learn and use the Avenza mapping app, basic computer and smartphone skills
  • Able to act with integrity, credibility, and self-confidence
  • Able to work in a team environment – some missions require teams, some will be solo

  • Basic First Aid Certification required prior to start date
  • Wilderness First Aid would be considered a strong asset

If you have what it takes to be one of our rangers you will have experience in backcountry camping, canoeing, field work and physical labour. You will be the person your group members look to when things don’t go as planned. Please be clear and honest about your experience level in your application. Although we have listed demanding requirements and experience levels, enthusiasm for the opportunity and willingness to learn and adapt will go a long way in the application process.
