This is an exciting time to join the team at Coast Funds. The Board renewed its strategic plan this year with a key focus on developing a long-term vision with respect to the intergenerational sustainability of the endowment fund. Efforts on this are led by this leadership role in collaboration with the Executive Director. Further, Coast Funds is seeking to evolve its leading socially responsible investment practices, a key area led by the Director of Finance in support of the Board.
As a collaborative business partner and influential member of Coast Fund’s leadership team, the Director of Finance will be hands-on and involved in all aspects of the financial operations of Coast Funds. The Director has overall responsibility for Coast Funds’ accounting and financial reporting; planning, budgeting, and forecasting; treasury; investment reporting; policy development; disbursements of funding to First Nations; compliance reporting, performance monitoring and forecasting; risk management; administration of HR; and management of information technology and organization’s assets. Finally, in reporting directly with the Executive Director, the Director will make regular presentations and provide support to the Board’s Investment, Finance, and Audit Committee. The Director will also be actively involved with the ED in the long-term strategic planning of Coast Funds with a focus on evolving the organization’s socially responsible investment practices and furthering the long-term sustainability of the endowment fund.
We are seeking to connect with seasoned accounting professionals backed by a CPA designation combined with over 5 years of financial leadership experience. Ideally, you have experience working with non-profits and/or charitable organizations with insight on how foundations are structured and managed. More importantly, you want to be part of helping to advance the financial stewardship and leadership of an organization that is making an impact. Using your strong financial acumen, written communication, risk analysis and strategic planning skills, you are viewed as a leader who produces top quality deliverables. You are an exceptional communicator with strong listening, mentorship and team building skills. Results driven, self-motivated and well-organized, you are able to take initiative and can work independently while never losing sight of the mission of the organization as defined by the Board.
