South Pond Farms is a 60-acre farm and special events venue located in the Kawartha Lakes of Ontario. We are dedicated to delivering authentic country experiences, weddings, corporate events, workshops and delicious farm-to-table suppers using food and flowers grown on the land. We are looking for a full-time and/or part-time worker for the summer season to help with our gardens and property maintenance. We have several vegetable, herb and flower gardens as well as general property maintenance in the preparation and take-down of events. Successful applicants would work with and report to our property manager. The position offers a wide range of tasks and the ability to hone many skills.
Duties include: planting and maintenance of all gardens, lawn maintenance and landscaping, harvesting and preparation of produce for sale or use by our kitchen and other outdoor tasks that contribute to up-keeping the production and aesthetic of the property.
Applicants must be able to work well on a team as well as be able to work independently and should have a keen interest in gardening and sustainable farming. We are looking for people with a strong work ethic and initiative who can take instruction and accept feedback in addition to eagerness to learn. Daily tasks will also include completing regular chores such as feeding and tending to animals, yard work and clean up. The work involves being outside in varying weather conditions and some physical exertion.
