For more than 25 years, GreenUP has been Peterborough region’s leading organization focused on issues of community resilience and sustainability. A non-profit charitable organization, our mission is to inspire and empower environmentally healthy and sustainable action in our community. We do this by: offering impactful, hands-on environmental education programs; leading inspiring restoration and renewal projects that demonstrate the potential for green, healthy, and active neighbourhoods; and, coordinating engaging events and campaigns that enable collaborative action.
GreenUP has an exemplary reputation for being knowledgeable, professional, inclusive, and accessible. Our current programs focus on climate action, active transportation, participatory planning, water protection, energy conservation, landscape restoration, food security, and sustainable business. We also operate GreenUP Ecology Park and the GreenUP Store, which provide citizens with the resources, information, and materials they need to create positive change. As an active community organization, we partner with individuals, businesses, other non-profit organizations, and governments to ensure that our region maintains its longstanding track record of environmental leadership in Ontario and across Canada.
GreenUP seeks a dynamic Executive Director to lead our organization to new successes. GreenUP has incredible and experienced staff, a diverse and engaged board, and a very strong internal structure. Our success as an organization is a function of our strength as a team, and we are investing in cultivating a safe and compassionate workplace that celebrates the deep investment staff and board have for their work.
The Executive Director must be a team-oriented, innovative, inclusive, and collaborative leader who can continue to engage and inspire all stakeholders: staff, board members, partners, volunteers, and members of our community.
