Help us protect the land we love!
About Us: The Yukon Conservation Society (YCS) is one of the oldest environmental non-profit organizations in Canada. Over the past 50 years, YCS has worked with communities, First Nation governments and diverse organizations to achieve many conservation victories in the territory. Our Board, staff and volunteers are experts in their fields – Energy, Mining, Wildlife, and Outdoor Education – and are committed to staying on the cutting edge of research and training so that YCS remains a respected voice for the Yukon’s wildlife, land and water.
What We Need: The Yukon is home to some of the last remaining wilderness areas and healthy wildlife populations in North America. Beneath the surface lie rich mineral and oil and gas deposits which have driven a boom and bust cycle for the past century and continue to govern management and political decisions in the territory. A small and engaged population, First Nation governments empowered by modern treaties, and unique development planning and assessment tools are defining features of the Yukon.
We are looking for a leader who will embrace the challenges and opportunities of this dynamic and evolving landscape and chart a path forward for YCS that will expand our influence and add to our long record of success. We are looking for someone who is passionate about conservation, actively seeks out strategic collaborations, is a compelling public speaker, can skillfully manage our internal organization, and knows the importance of taking the time to get out on the land.
The successful candidate must have:
37.5 hours per week
$27 to $32 per hour
Closing date: December 1
