Are you keen to work with children and pass on your love of nature? Would you love to create and deliver environmental workshops for youth? Would you like to learn new skills while working in a beautiful riverside setting? Could you imagine yourself working for a grassroots watershed group advocating for the health of the Alouette River?
For almost 30 years, the Alouette River Management Society has been working hard to sustain and enhance the integrity of the Alouette Watershed. In 1993, ARMS was one of the key drivers in advocating for increased river flows for all 5 species of Pacific salmon and other aquatic species. ARMS became the first group in British Columbia to obtain a Water Use Plan and successfully increased water flows in the South Alouette River.
We are a leader in the community for river education, salmon habitat enhancement, watershed advocacy and much, much more! We are a small but mighty team of 3 staff and a volunteer board of directors! Our office and interpretive centre is located on the ancestral, unceded territories of the Katzie First Nation and Kwantlen First Nation. Our work takes us into local parks, classrooms, and riverside. We work with many amazing people and other like-minded community and environmental groups.
