Employees must live near the camp they are working at.

Summary of Position/Job Description

Our Environmental Educators will work alongside our Senior Environmental Educator and Program Manager, to implement the FAB Summer Camp program at one of our four locations.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Represent the FABN at the one of our four locations.
2. Demonstrate leadership and best practices in environmental stewardship.
3. Assist campers with activities and rules.
4. Cover lunch breaks for other staff.
5. Fill in for staff who are away or leave early for appointments.
6. Assist in other staff with implementing the FAB Nature Camp program.
7. Maintain the FAB philosophy and mandate.
8. Provide a safe, fun experience for all campers - on land and on water.
9. Ensure that the facility is clean, organized, and litter free.
10. Know and follow all safety guidelines associated with the camp and all program areas.
11. Willingness to be in the water during each swim session, with their designated group.

Qualifications - Required

1. Must be 16 years or older.
2. Interest in working with children and in the outdoors.
3. Police Record Check with the Vulnerable Sector Check (Valid within the last 6 months and for applicants over 18 years old).
4. Willingness to work Monday-Friday, rain or shine for their full 8 week contract
5. Personal means of transportation to and from the camp location.
6. Able to walk 5 kilometers and lift 50 pounds.

Qualifications - Assets

1. Bilingual
2. Outdoor enthusiast, naturalist, and survival skills preferred
3. National Lifeguard Certification NLS - priority will be given to applicants with their NLS
4. First Aid/CPR/AED certified

Contract Start Date: July 5th, 2021
Contract Length: 8 weeks
Wage: $14.25
Hours: Between 8am-5pm / 30 hours per week / Approximately 6 hours per day
