Position: Sustainability Educator
Organization: Skye Consulting and Green Bricks
Location: Greater Vancouver / Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley, BC

Skye Consulting ( and Green Bricks ( is looking for an enthusiastic sustainability educator to join our team for both organizations to deliver interactive classroom workshops to elementary and secondary school classrooms in lower mainland and Fraser Valley schools (Surrey, North Vancouver, Vancouver, Delta, Abbotsford), to help faciitate programs at Surrey's Biofuel facility, and to assist with interactive onsite Metro Vancouver watershed education programs to elementary classes at both the Coquitlam and Lower Seymour watershed locations.

The hours for this work is approximately 25 - 35 hours per week until June 2020 (with breaks for regular school holidays), with the potential to continue this work in the Fall 2020.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • a Bachelor of Education, Science, Environmental Studies or relevant work experience;
  • courses in science and/or sustainability
  • a strong understanding of the issues with climate change, energy and water conservation, zero waste movement, and green buildings;
  • experience in K-12 classroom settings and/or outdoor education;
  • standard first aid or a willingness to obtain;
  • a reliable, economy car; and
  • availability to start work on September 11, 2019 and commit to the contract until June 2020.


  • $30 per hour
  • Compensation for presentation set up, prep time, and training
  • Work Term Sept 11, 2019 – June 20, 2020 and then potentially throughout the next school year starting September 2020.
  • Hours of Work – Approximately 4-5 days per week (5 – 8 hours a day), Monday to Friday.
