Positions: FREE Entry-level Training in Landscape & Horticulture
Program: GROW Landscape & Horticulture Training Program 
Locations: Online learning & in-person training:

  • Muskoka-Kawartha Region Training Location: Bala, Ontario
  • Greater Toronto & Hamilton Region Training Location: Milton, Ontario.
  • Transportation available within the GROW Service Areas. Inquire for more information.

Love nature? Why not grow that passion into a profession?

Developed & delivered by Landscape Ontario, the province's largest association of landscape and horticultural professionals, the GROW New Entrant Training Program provides FREE training and support to help launch your outdoor career.

GROW Participants will:

  • Train with current industry professionals.
  • Gain in-demand skills and safety knowledge.
  • Join a professional network.
  • Access one-on-one support to find full-time employment with sector employers.

As a part of Landscape Ontario’s GROW Program, the New Entrant Training Program is funded in part by the Government of Canada and the Government of Ontario. All training is provided free of charge.

Skills Training:
4 weeks - Monday - Friday • 9am - 5pm

GROW training curriculum focuses on:

  • Softscape Installation & Maintenance Techniques
  • Horticultural Principles
  • Plant Identification
  • Safe Tool and Equipment use
  • Workplace Readiness
  • Employment & Softskills Training
  • Health & Safety incl. WHMIS


  • Age 18+
  • Resident of Ontario
  • Seeking full-time employment (40 hours per week)
  • Unemployed or underemployed
  • Available to attend full-time training
