DOG SITTER NEEDED

Position: Sled dog companion
Type: 3 weeks, daily wage plus room and board (see below)
Organization: Sled Dogs of Rabbit Creek
Location: near La Ronge, Saskatchewan

I live in a small cabin in the boreal forest with nine husky sled dogs. Location: 30 km south of La Ronge SK.

I am looking for an interested person to mind my dogs  while I am away. Come a week early to get to know the dogs before I go away. The dogs are very well socialized. I offer a daily wage of $60 for 3 hours of work per day, plus room and board, use of vehicle, use of mobile telephone (aka cell phone aka handy), membership in the local canoe club in summer, nordic ski club in winter, and access to numerous outside activities. Facilities at home are very basic: no running water, no electricity. Lots of bugs (mosquitos and blackflies) in summer, lots of snow and fridgid temperatures in winter (we heat with wood only).

My friends will check on you when I am away to make sure you are doing ok and are not feeling too isolated. It will be a unique experience for you but it will be tough in some ways too. Resilient happy people will get a lot out of this opportunity. I need to travel away from the dogs a few times a year, so I am always looking for someone.
