ABOUT THE PROJECT
Swim Drink Fish is a Canada-based organization that connects people with water. We help more than 4-million people discover the importance of nature in their lives and provide them with the knowledge and tools they need to safeguard swimmable, drinkable, fishable water.
Our tight-knit team of water and communication specialists is looking for a passionate digital marketing specialist to execute our search engine optimization, email marketing, and social media marketing strategies.

Boost traffic to Swim Drink Fish platforms (greatlakes.guide and theswimguide.org) by developing and overseeing marketing strategies that include Search Engine Optimization, social media, and mass email.
Search Engine Optimization example: ensure that the sites rank high on search results for key topics and that site traffic is hitting established targets. Tasks include:
help identify topics and keywords for articles and pages on greatlakes.guide, theswimguide.org, swimdrinkfish.ca (the parent organization website)
review and optimize content on the site for searchability
contribute design or engineering suggestions that will help to optimize the site for search
Manage the organization’s search and social ad campaigns, with an emphasis on Google Adwords and the maintenance of our Google Grants account.
Monitor and report on traffic, user engagement, and goal achievement trends
Provide other analytics services to the Swim Drink Fish team as needed
Help to develop email marketing strategies and monitor email marketing performance
Social Media Marketing: Cultivate social media networks to build and engage Swim Drink Fish platform users.
Teamwork: Work closely with the platforms team to share ideas, learn from their work, and meet deadlines
Monitor relevant search trends, topics, sites, and influencers to ensure digital marketing strategies don’t get stale
Provide reports to support new and established marketing partnerships and assist with relationship maintenance from time to time
Only candidates with these qualifications will be considered for the position:
A minimum of 1 year professional experience in a similar role
Proven experience executing digital marketing campaigns in the past
Demonstrated understanding of search engine optimization concepts and the ability to translate those concepts into actionable improvements to Swim Drink Fish platforms
Familiarity with standard web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Facebook Analytics)
Experience using email marketing software (e.g., Mailchimp)
Knowledge of the Mac platform
OTHER BENEFICIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Basic design and/or UX knowledge
An interest in nature and the Great Lakes
