JOB SUMMARY
Tree Canada is seeking a strong writer and editor with proven marketing and digital communications experience to join our communications and marketing team. This highly collaborative position, based in Ottawa, Ontario, requires a team player with advanced interpersonal skills, positive energy, high degree of organization and ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment. The ideal candidate is someone who shows initiative by using their skills to advance the goals of the organization, while providing ideas and support for various program areas and specific projects.
The ideal candidate will excel at big picture thinking while also being detail-oriented. The communications coordinator will work closely with the communications manager to create and deliver communications plans and associated products, while interacting with other members of the communications team and staff across the organization on a regular basis.
The role, reporting to the communications manager, requires demonstrated project management skills, strong writing/editing ability, media and public relations experience, strategic communications experience, familiarity with emerging communications trends and digital publishing. Strong interpersonal, time and project management skills are essential.
The ideal candidate should be bilingual and be passionate about emerging Canadian environmental or forestry trends, sustainability issues in business (Corporate Social Responsibility), and governmental/societal support for the “green agenda”.

Note that Tree Canada offers a competitive medical and dental benefits package and RRSP contributions matched by employer (up to 5% of salary). Salary will be commensurate with experience however please provide salary expectations as part of your cover letter.
This is a full-time (37.5 hours/week) position.
