Eco-Counter is the world leader in automatic pedestrian and cyclist counters with clients ranging from the most progressive cities in active transportation to picturesque national parks and conservation areas. We help our clients to gather, interpret, and communicate data on cycling and pedestrian traffic, used in research, planning, and public outreach.

We are seeking problem solvers, excellent communicators and do-it-yourselfers to join our North American team in the role of Technical installation and Support Specialist. You will be trained as an expert in our counter hardware and software, so that you can troubleshoot problems, offer guidance and resolve issues for clients and colleagues. As well as customer support, you will be trained in the installation and maintenance of counters, so that you can travel to cities and natural areas across the United States and Canada as an expert in the field. We are seeking people who are excited to learn how technologies work, fix things, and share their knowledge with others.

Your responsibilities will be:

  • Travelling in Canada and the USA and to assist client for installations (2 to 15 days per month)
  • Troubleshooting technical problems
  • Installing and maintaining counter equipment
  • Training and assisting clients
  • Documenting issues in CRM software
  • Collaborating with the Sales and R&D teams
  • Contributing to improvements in the Support team’s operations

Mandatory requirements:

  • University degree or relevant experience in transportation, engineering, planning, geography, environment, technology or a related field.
  • Interest in active transportation, parks, trails, and/or healthy cities
  • Excellent English writing and speaking skills (Fluency in French is a strong asset)
  • Driver's license
  • Ability to work and travel in Canada and the United States

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to empathize with clients
  • A demonstrated aptitude for problem solving
  • A comfort with working with your hands and working outdoors.
  • Aptitude for understanding and clearly explaining technical concepts
  • Highly motivated and driven individual that is eager to learn
  • Actively listens to the needs of others and identifies potential opportunities
  • Enjoys creative problem-solving and continuous improvement to processes and operations
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities, timelines, and diverse projects
