Position: Project Coordinator
Organization: Evolutionary Music Co-operative
Location: Toronto, Ontario (mostly online, on-site for some events)

Eligibility: Age 15-30
Wage: $14/hour and time credits with co-op time bank

Hours: 40 hours/week (part time options available)
Dates: Start early August, for 7 weeks

We are looking for a Project Coordinator to join our growing team! Evolutionary Music Co-Op (EvMC) is an emerging non-profit music and media co-operative incorporated in 2017, designed to enable artists to create conscious music that can be shared with fans, community members, and organizations who value music as a tool for inspiration, change and healing. EvMC supports musicians and culture creators (including youth!) living on the margins to be able to make a good living from their artistic works, operating based on cooperation instead of competition. Our activities include workshops, community events, team meetings, and co-op development. We function within a human rights and co-operative framework and use online platforms, timebanks, and co-operative systems where music industry professionals, artists, partners, and fans can collaborate.

As Project Coordinator you will

  • Work with a team of multidisciplinary professionals in the social, music, and media sectors
  • Gain skills related to project management, communication, media/technology
  • Work with mentors as part of a team to support and develop EvMC's online platforms, communications strategy, membership engagement, and co-op capacity
  • Gain insight into the music and media industry, as well as learn about co-operatives

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing co-op activities through design and implementation
  • Organize, schedule, attend and lead meetings with project teams
  • Input data into EvMC platforms as required
  • Coordinate roles and responsibilities for activities and events
  • Manage project logistics, confirm project team work plans are being followed
  • Coordinate and maintain project budgets and documentation
  • Ensure the team has the tools they need to execute EvMC activities
  • Work alongside co-op staff and members throughout their employment. Board Members and Project Manager will supervise by supporting the development of Project Coordinator work plans, meeting weekly to assess progress and address any challenges as they arise
