Job Status: Full-time / Permanent
Reporting To: Manager, Weatherization


The Assistant Manager, Weatherization, will be responsible for supporting the Manager, Weatherization in overseeing the daily operation of the Weatherization department. This includes effectively leading, coaching, training and developing members of the Weatherization team, with a focus on the successful completion of weatherization projects under Energy Conservation Programs. The Assistant Manager, Weatherization, will work closely with GreenSaver’s Program Management team as well as the Manager, Weatherization and Weatherization Supervisors to effectively meet organizational program objectives and targets.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Weatherization Manager to oversee the Project Coordination and Project Analyst Teams
  • Build effective, high-performing teams through training, coaching and constructive feedback
  • Support Departmental and Company strategies and processes using effective communication and problem-solving skills to deliver results and drive program outcomes
  • Ensure the scope and direction of each project are clear, and that projects are on track to be completed as required to meet organizational program objectives
  • Act as the liaison between Weatherization and Program Management regarding schedule and project progress for each Conservation Program
  • Provide feedback to the Weatherization Manager and Weatherization Supervisors regarding team and project performance
  • Prepare regular reports regarding the overall performance of the Weatherization department
  • Assist the Weatherization Manager in the interviewing, onboarding and training of new hires
  • Become a reliable point of contact for each member of the Weatherization team; manage team dynamics to guarantee functional performance
  • Facilitate, lead and collaborate in internal team meetings and meetings with other departments
  • Aid in developing and implementing action plans to maximize efficiency and productivity
  • Review, update and maintain the processes and procedures of the Weatherization department
  • Ensure that health, safety, and security rules are followed
  • Assist the Weatherization Manager in preparing and presenting employee performance reviews
  • Take disciplinary action when and as required
  • Maintain an overall management style that follows Company best practices
  • Other duties as assigned and requested by the Manager of the Weatherization department

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2 to 3 years’ work experience in a supervisory or assistant management role within the construction industry or similar field services
  • Post-secondary education focused in Construction / Project Management is considered an asset
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Must be self-motivated and possess a strong desire for self-development
  • Superior team building and coaching abilities, both as a leader and as a team member
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure, thrive on challenges and be solution-oriented
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrable experience in managing multiple tasks and priorities
  • Ability to work in a team environment and independently
  • Strong attention to detail and able to complete tasks timely and accurately
  • Concern for the environment
