Old-growth Forest Science Intern
Ancient Forest Exploration & Research is a non-profit, charitable organization formed in 1992 that is dedicated to conducting studies of ancient and old-growth forests and educating the public about the importance of these endangered ecosystems. This summer, we will be searching for and documenting old-growth forests in Peterborough County with the help of citizen scientists. We need an intern to help with this new project.
The full-time intern will assist with old-growth forest ecology surveys (mostly vegetation) from July 2, 2019 to August 30, 2019 in the northern half of Peterborough County (Township of North Kawartha, Township of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen, Municipality of Trent Lakes). A $1000/month stipend will be provided, totalling $2000 upon completion of the internship. Carpooling with AFER staff from our office (located at The Mount Community Centre at 1545 Monaghan Road) will be arranged. Our office is accessible by transit.
Please send your resume (2-page maximum) to Dr. Peter Quinby at email@example.com , subject line: “AFER Internship” by Monday June 17, 2019. Candidates will be reviewed as resumes are received. Only those chosen for interviews will be contacted.
