The Fraser Watershed Initiative (FWI) is committed to transparency, accessibility, and fairness in all our work. The FWI offers a path forward to address identified threats, by bringing together Indigenous & Non-Indigenous decision-makers, local community, conservation and philanthropic leaders in a dialogue around land use planning, establishment of protected areas, conservation of critical habitats and cultural treasures, as well as addressing mining issues.
FWI is looking for an experienced project director with excellent administrative, communication and organizational skills to help coordinate projects while working with the FWI’s leaders.
The Project Director / Operations Coordinator is responsible for project management, providing administrative support to the senior staff, ensuring scheduling and workflow, government and NGO outreach along with following-up and day-to-day operations.
We are looking for someone who flourishes in a high-paced work environment. You are extremely organized, with superior administrative and writing/editing skills. You have a keen eye for detail, and are a self-starter that requires minimal direction. Flexible schedule and travel will be required. You display pride of workmanship and enjoy working with a team and working independently.
The Project Coordinator requires:
Completion of a university level degree or related experience.
8 to 12 years of position related experience. (Benefit if in the charitable sector)
Provide day to day support to senior staff.
Excellent communication skills.
Advanced writing and editing skills.
Ability to organize, prioritize and manage a busy schedule.
Ability to record and transcribe meeting minutes/notes.
Computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Google docs is required.
