Position: Consultant – Clean Energy Transition
Organization: Dunsky Energy + Climate Advisors
Location: Montréal, Quebec

DUNSKY is a mission-driven consulting firm focused on accelerating the transition to a clean energy future. We help our clients – primarily North American governments, utilities, private firms and non-profits – by assessing market-wide energy efficiency, renewable energy and clean mobility opportunities; by designing programs, policies and strategies to accelerate their adoption; and by evaluating (and improving) their performance.

Our team of 41 professionals (growing!) Is made up of pleasant, collaborative, intelligent people who care deeply about the future of the planet.

You are passionate, rigorous, analytical ; you have good interpersonal skills and excellent written French as well. Your experience – at work or in life – tells that story. You share the common traits of our team (see above), and you offer:

Required skills & experience:

  • 5 years of professional experience in one of the following fields: energy efficiency and demand response; program evaluation; energy resource planning; or sustainable mobility
  • solid technical training related to the areas mentioned above
  • strong quantitative analysis skills, including with MS Excel
  • a strong aptitude for developing and structuring logical arguments
  • excellent written communication skills in French, combined with very good skills in English
  • the ability to prioritize effectively and work on multiple projects
  • a clear interest in the energy transition underway

Preferred skills and experience:

  • experience and / or natural skills in project management
  • knowledge of measures, programs or policies relating to energy efficiency, renewable energy or sustainable mobility
  • consulting experience (or skills), that is to say an ability to understand client needs, ask the right questions, synthesize complex information and develop practical recommendations
  • a desire to "change the world"

At Dunsky, our consultants and senior analysts have the following responsibilities:

1. Advise our clients in Canada and the United States on effective strategies to accelerate the energy transition

In collaboration with more than 30 expert colleagues in the field, you will carry out studies and plans for governments (municipal, provincial and federal), utilities and non-profit organizations with decision-making power and / or influence to move the transition forward in an efficient and responsible manner.

2. Develop methodologies, perform technical analyzes and prepare reports and presentations for our clients

You will be required to contribute to all stages of a project: from the design of the methodology, to the research necessary to answer the client's question, to the analysis and interpretation of the data ( mainly quantitative), to the writing of reports outlining the results of the analysis in a structured, efficient and tailored way. Consultants can also be responsible for client relations.

3. Manage complete projects or tasks within projects

A significant level of autonomy is given to consultants in the performance of their duties. Consultants manage small to medium-sized projects, including client relationship and team management, and support our Senior Consultants in the execution of larger projects.

4. Play an important role in the preparation of proposals or the design of analysis tools

Depending on the strengths and experiences you bring to the team, you will be required to contribute to business development efforts (writing proposals for our clients or presenting projects at industry conferences) or to the development and improvement of our analysis tools (models, database and templates, etc.).
