Position: Climate Organizer
Organization: Climate Action Alliance
Location: Remote, anywhere in Canada

  • Contract Length: October 3 to December 9, 2022

  • Compensation: $27.5/ hour, 40 hours a week, flexible hours

Overview: Right now, the federal government is deciding the emission cap regulations for the oil and gas sector. This is an generational opportunity for Canada to take real climate action. Come join a team of passionate and motivated activists for a nationwide mobilization this fall to secure a strong and ambitous emissions cap! As a Climate Organizer you will recruit, motivate, and train volunteers to ensure diverse voices from across the country reach key political decision makers. The Job

  • Recruitment: Recruit volunteers via email, phone, or zoom from across the country to join a nationwide campaign to fight for meaningful climate action. This will require meeting your volunteers when they’re available, including some evenings and weekends
  • Volunteer Management: Work with volunteers individually and in group settings, supporting them to have their voices heard by key decision makers. Cultivate a welcoming and energized atmosphere
  • Training: Use your excellent public speaking skills to deliver effective trainings to volunteers
  • Collaboration: Work with a network of coalition partners to ensure the smooth operation of this campaign


  • Strong communication, both written and oral
  • Extremely well organized, able to manage competing tasks and priorities
  • Candidates must be able to work with a team, have proven leadership skills, and the ability to handle a lot of responsibility
  • Able to work independently with a strong work ethic and the ability to take initiative
  • Desire for political change
  • Previous organizing work a plus but not a requirement


  • Bilingual (French/English)
