Position: Childcare Provider
Organization: Little Sprouts Daycare
Location: Grey County, Ontario (near Ayton, 15 mins from Durham, Hanover, Mount Forest)

Looking for an experienced, caring daycare provider who loves nature.

Little Sprouts Nature Preschool is looking to hire a daycare provider from October 2019 – June, 2020. The schedule is M-F, 8:30-1:30, daily. Snacks and lunches are provided. We currently have three children enrolled between the ages of 1-3. The set up includes a well-furnished indoor play area and eating spot, an enclosed outdoor space and nature areas for exploration.

Pay would be $18/hr.


  • Degree / Certificate in Early Childhood Education or equivalent experience or training with young children.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in the field
  • New Police Check (vulnerable sector)
  • Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification
  • Previous experience working with children aged 1 to 4 years
  • Positive behavioural management techniques required

Assets would include:

  • experience working with children in an outdoor setting in all kinds of weather
  • knowledge of/interest in Ontario plant and animal species
  • understanding of risky play and emergent learning philosophies
  • ability to incorporate early literacy and numeracy concepts in play
