Position: Bookkeeping Office Administrator

We are looking to hire a dynamic and organized bookkeeper and office administrator to help us organize and manage our growing business. We are an e-commerce and wholesale material supply company that focuses on traditional, natural materials and tools for restoration, conservation, and building, with a particular emphasis on craftsmanship. We strive to bring the ethic of craftsmanship to all the work we do.

OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a person to join our team who practices bookkeeping and office administration as a craft — with care and attention to detail, with an aim to improve process and efficiency, and with discernment and good judgement, while working well with others.

As bookkeeper, our new team member will be independently responsible for all bookkeeping activities that support accurate and real-time accounting. As an office administrator, our new team member will bring a service-based approach to efficiently managing and facilitating an organized work environment for the team and to directing customers to get the help they need.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Inbounding and publishing invoices and expense receipts to Receipt Bank.
  • Real-time reconciliation in Xero.
  • A/P, A/R, payroll, general ledger postings, invoicing, taxation issues, and regulatory compliance guidelines.
  • Developing and delivering monthly, quarterly, and annual Profit and Loss statements and

Balance Sheets for management within strict deadlines.

  • Cost control analysis, providing timely and frequent financial information that supports company goals and objectives.
  • Identifying and implementing improvements to streamline processes and increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Process improvement.
  • Inbounding calls, e-mails, and real-time chat messages and directing them to the right team member.
  • Data entry in our website, inventory, and accounting systems.
  • Manage and organize office materials and activities.
  • Facilitate a tidy, organized, and high-functioning work environment.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Completed post-secondary education in accounting and/or bookkeeping.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of accounting and auditing principles.
  • Training and aptitude in systems thinking and process improvements.
  • Proficiency in cloud accounting and payroll softwares
  • Familiarity with project/task management software
  • Familiarity with e-commerce and inventory management software
  • Supplies management
  • Data entry, filing, and maintaining records.
  • Organized and task-oriented with high emotional intelligence.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Strong aptitude for customer service.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $34,809.00-$59,534.00 per year
