Location: applicants must be in Eastern Canada (remote location is possible from Atlantic Time Zone or Eastern Time Zone) with preference in Ottawa-Gatineau Metropolitan Area

Job Description Snapshot- Why would you want to work for Relay Education?

  • Relay Education is a Canadian charity
  • Job Type: Fulltime 9 month contract
  • Compensation: $30,000 for 9 months
  • Very great chance of contract extension
  • Language: Bilingual in French and English
  • Eligibility: 16 - 30 years old

Job Overview- Bonjour

The person who fills this position will be responsible for communicating with and providing Relay Education programming for French speaking schools throughout Canada with an emphasis on Ottawa-Gatineau region. This person may also be the first line of communication for potential French speaking Relay Education programs worldwide.

Flexibility- Your home is your office.

Relay is a strong proponent of renewable energy hands-on learning. After the pandemic began, we had to pivot and keep our content relevant, so we introduced an element of remote education. This pivot has also provided a benefit for our staff. All of our programming, communication and other activities are now completed in a work from home environment. As the pandemic wanes over time, we expect to complete more in-class programming, but the work from home component is now the standard.

Team environment- It’s a Relay race around the silos.

Relay has staff all over the country. Although most of us never physically meet, we stay in constant contact through various methods. Individuals on our team are responsible for their region, but we always support our team members as needed. Don’t be surprised if you have to assist a team member in British Columbia with technical issues or if you have to complete a remote presentation to a grade 5 class in Nova Scotia. There are no silos here!

Expansion- From a caterpillar to a butterfly

Relay has grown exponentially over the last 5 years, and we are not slowing down! We began as a small charity based in Toronto that taught people about renewable energy. Today we have international partnerships and have expanded the charity into coordinating internships nationally, building capacity with Indigenous nations, and continuing to take the necessary steps to meet our mission goal of educating, inspiring and assisting individuals and communities in building a 100% renewable energy future.

If you feel that you would be a great fit for Relay Education, continue reading this job description and apply today.
