Position: Mobile Bicycle Mechanic
Company: Matteo's Mobile Bicycle Repair
Location: Toronto, Ontario
Hey, Matteo here. So basically I have an overflow of cyclists that are not interested in waiting two weeks for bike repair in the busy season especially.
So when I say overflow, I’d say like perhaps 5 folk a week, was Last year. Generally $50-70 is earned a job. So not that much granted.
BUT!! If I think you’re a good fit, and you need more hours, and I want to keep you on as I will increasingly be needing more and more help. I’m only ever advertising more, I can do extra advertising and to get more hours for you, and even sacrifice some Of the jobs I would have taken for you To have. IF YOU really dig the work too, you could of course help advertise as well if you wanted.
Honestly, if you're a Bike Mechanic that abhors sitting around on your butt all day, and you would much rather get out there and work a sweat, (or just miss the feeling of bike touring) than this is a GREAT way to do it and make $200/300 a day working an 8 hour day.
So if just to fill in some hours and get yourself a leg stretch, cool. If you want to really get into it and we find full time hours, totally doable , I’ve had this business for just about 5 years now, and I have 40 hour weeks working noon till 8 from about march/April till August every year. And that’s me only using free advertising methods just on fb and some paltry postering.
Now being fully prepared, with tools parts, portable stand, is pretty much like riding on a bike tour every day all fair weather season long year after year. (I confess im even doing an E conversion to my road bike to help out-but to my defense i live all the way out in Mississauga now but work mainly Toronto) But it is very satisfying to sit in a different patio chair in a different backyard every couple hours and work on bikes out in the fresh air.
