ARBORISTS / TREE CARE

Hiring: Skilled Arborists (2 vacancies)

Main duties:

  • Examine trees and shrubs to diagnose problems and disease,
  • Apply various treatments such as pruning, spraying, repairing damaged areas and injecting with treatment solutions.
  • Plant and move trees
  • Direct crews
  • Survey and assess work sites

Employment groups: Students, Youth, Veterans of the Canadian Armed Forces, Visible minorities, Persons with disabilities, Indigenous people, Newcomers to Canada, Apprentices

Salary: $25-35 CAD/ hour
Terms of employment: Permanent employment, Full time 40 hours / week
Start date: As soon as possible

Employment conditions: Morning, Day
Language of work: English

Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years, in a related field.
Experience: 2-3 years of related experience, minimum

Work Site Environment: Dangerous, Odours, Outdoors, At heights, Noisy
Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver's licence required

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
Attention to detail, Repetitive tasks, Handling heavy loads, Physically demanding, Manual dexterity, Standing for extended periods, Bending, crouching, kneeling

Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.)
International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) certification is an asset, but not required to apply. Candidates with ISA may be given priority.

Work Location Information: Various locations in the BC Lower Mainland
