Job Description

We are seeking a friendly, reliable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper who is experienced with bookkeeping and generally accepted accounting principles.

The role includes helping GNN set up a user-friendly bookkeeping system, training the GNN Treasurer in its use, and producing financial reports as needed in order to fulfill the not-for-profit financial federal requirements.

This is a long-term position that is about 4-6 hours per month with flexibility to work from home.


  • Set-up payroll for summer student employees
  • Set-up group membership invoice and payment system
  • Reconcile bank account statements monthly.
  • Prepare annual financial statements and reports.
  • Assist with audits as required.

Preferred Skills

  • Experienced bookkeeper with Strong technical and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge and experience with bookkeeping software (such as Wave or Quickbooks).
  • Must be very meticulous, have a positive attitude, and be a great team player


The Bookkeeper will work closely with the volunteer GNN Treasurer. They will learn about GNN in orientation sessions with members of the GNN Steering Committee.

Time Commitment

4-6 hours a month for 3-6 months with possibility of extension.
