Are you a young person (16-29) in the GTA who wants to learn about sustainability and climate action while developing the skills needed to become an agent of sustainable change in your community? Join the Youth Climate Action Initiative by Skills for Change!

Are you passionate about creating positive change in your community? Are you interested in learning about climate change, sustainability, and taking action to protect our planet? Look no further! The Youth Climate Action Initiative, by Skills for Change, is seeking dedicated volunteers like you to be part of our impactful program.

As a volunteer, you will benefit from:

• Building connections with like-minded peers
• Engaging in nature-based activities like urban gardening, tree planting, and forest therapy walks
• Access to free environmental education, tours, events, and workshops within the community
• Weekly sustainability and leadership-focused learning sessions at no cost
• Opportunity to develop your own Community Climate Action Project

Program Details:

• Hybrid Format: Virtual with optional in-person activities
• 10-week duration: 2-4 hours per week commitment
• Sustainability Leader Certificate upon program completion
• Volunteer experience (volunteer hours available upon request)
• Focus on Jane and Finch, Weston, Thorncliffe Park, Flemingdon Park, and Black Creek areas

Cohort Dates:
Autumn Cohort: October 5th 2023 - December 7th 2023 (Thursdays, 6:30-8:30pm)
