Needed: Outreach Volunteer
Organization: Sandy Pines Wildlife Centre
Location: Napanee, near Kingston, Ontario
Sandy Pines Wildlife Centre is a wildlife hospital in Napanee, ON that rehabilitates over 6,000 wild animals each year. In addition to the medical care of patients, we also run an education program to help prevent wildlife from becoming sick, injured, and orphaned. Outreach is a key part of our education program that raises awareness of our work and raises critical funds to keep our facility open.
Outreach Volunteer Description:
Outreach volunteers attend markets, fairs, and other special events throughout the year with our outreach and merchandise booth. You will be responsible for speaking to the public about our work and raising money through the sale of our branded merchandise (clothing, adopt-a-species packages, etc.). You will also be responsible for picking up the outreach materials before the event and rerturning them to the Education Coordinator after the event, as well as setting up at the event and packing up at the end of an event, depending on the timing of your shift.
Time Commitment: 4-5 hours per month, typically on a Saturday or Sunday
