URBAN RESILIENCE & COMMUNITY

Position: Steering Committee Member
Organization: Transition Toronto
Location: Toronto, Ontario

Transition Toronto is the Toronto chapter of the global Transition Movement, a community-level solution to the problems of oil depletion and climate change. Our vision is of a Toronto made up of interconnected neighbourhoods that are locally resilient. Our projects include EcoFair at the Barns, TreeMobile, work on an alternative currency, and yardsharing.

STEERING COMMITTEE MEMBERS

Responsibilities of Steering Committee Members:

  • Provide leadership to one of our existing or upcoming projects that build resilience in neighbourhoods and throughout the city
  • Act as a liaison between project volunteers and the Steering Committee
  • Provide input on existing and new projects to ensure mission alignment
  • Attend and participate in quarterly Steering Committee meetings

Qualifications:

  • Project coordination experience, either in a work or volunteer capacity
  • Commitment to the responsibilities listed above
  • Interest in environmental issues
