VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY

Needed: Fundraising Program Mentor for an Environmental Charity
Organization: Biosphere Eco-Cities
Location: remote, anywhere in Canada

Are you passionate about fundraising and eager to share your knowledge with a dynamic team of volunteers?

Biosphere Eco-Cities Canada (BECC) is on the lookout for a dedicated volunteer to serve as a fundraising mentor and lead a fundraising program for the organization. As a mentor, you'll play a crucial role in guiding our team to develop and lead an impactful fundraising program to attain core funding for staff and project funding. This volunteer opportunity offers a unique chance to contribute to a sustainable future in a hands-on way.

What You'll Do:

Mentorship: Through the dedication of 3-4 hours a week over a span of five months, you'll provide guidance and mentorship to our team, helping them create and implement a robust fundraising plan and strategy.

About BECC:

BECC is at the forefront of fostering sustainability in urban communities. Our Biosphere Eco-Cities (BECs) use innovative projects and information to engage people in sustainable practices. You can learn more about our approach on our national website: bec-evb.ca.

We currently have five BEC initiatives in Ottawa, Toronto, Brampton, Edmonton, and Vancouver. BECC actively supports their development, but to maintain our crucial work, we need additional resources, including a dedicated secretariat for training and communication, support for local projects, and national projects that involve several BEC cities.

Why We Need Your Help:

BECC has two part-time staff members and is seeking funding to enhance our level of involvement. We've already recruited two dedicated volunteers eager to work on fundraising, but they require training and guidance. We anticipate the need to bring more fundraising volunteers on board as our initiatives expand.

Your Commitment:

Time: We appreciate volunteers who can dedicate 3-4 hours per week.

Meetings: All meetings with staff and fellow volunteers will be conducted online, and we'll work around your availability to ensure convenience.

How to Get Started:

If you're excited to make a tangible difference in the world of sustainability and fundraising, we'd love to hear from you. To explore this volunteer opportunity, we can arrange an online interview at a time that suits you.

Your passion for fundraising can fuel our mission to create more sustainable, thriving communities in Canada.
