VOLUNTEER POSITIONS

Positions: Project Mentors and Skills Coaches

Location: volunteers work from home, anywhere in Canada

Umano’s mission is to support initiatives that foster holistic empathy for humans, animals, and the environment. We achieve our mission by providing funding and training to help changemakers around the world build holistically empathic initiatives that are financially resilient and impactful.

We are starting to build our team of volunteer Project Mentors and Skills Coaches, who will provide guidance to the initiatives that we support, using our ‘RISE’ framework to help the project increase their reach, measure their impact, build financial resiliency, and incorporate empathy-building into their programs. Project Mentors provide more broad-based strategic support, while Skills Coaches are subject-matter experts (such as social media advice). You can see our funded projects on our website, but we have many more coming in the near future!

Volunteers will be matched with projects based on interests and skills needed, and communication with project leaders will be done online over Zoom and email.

  • Ability to commit to up to 5 hours of mentorship per month, with a minimum commitment of 1 year
  • Belief in the importance of empathy for humans, animals and the environment
