WORK-TRADE POSITION

Position: Lodge caretaking (two people / couple)
Lodge: Blackfish Lodge

Location: fly-in floating lodge, British Columbia

Type: exchange for accom., meals (see below) (unpaid)

Hello! We are currently seeking two people to come live with us for 4 weeks starting June 10th this year. We are a family of 4, mom, dad and two teens.

We run a very remote, fly-in only fishing lodge 27 miles east of Port McNeill, BC, and are looking for some help with any or all aspects of spring/early summer start up jobs such as pressure washing the decks, herb and veggie gardening, cleaning, painting, cooking, woodwork, organizing, stacking wood and generally having fun with the kids and sharing some nice meals together. We have a kayak, a canoe, a paddle board and a sauna for fun.

In exchange for around 20 hours of work a week, we will provide your room and board in your own modest float house with wood heat, good food and (limited) wifi. There is no cell reception or emergency services at our location. Boating skills, carpentry, painting, mechanical, electrical and any other trade skill are assets.

This job would be well suited to a couple as living space on the float is tight.
