We are looking for a Social Media Coordinator to manage and actively engage in the creation of a an engrossing, impactful, and innovative social media strategy for our non-profit organization.

We are a passionate group of do-gooders who want to build a dedicated team driven towards developing an effective community-level approach to climate change education and outreach.Your time with us will result in a strong and robust knowledge of communicating climate change information to various audiences, effective storytelling skills and program development experience. You will collaborate with inspiring community leaders and subject-matter expert, develop robust skills, and foster a continuous sense of fulfillment from community service!

Time Commitment: 3-7 hours weekly

Job Description

• Manage and actively engage in the creation of an engrossing, impactful, and innovative social media strategy
• Create innovative, stylish, and informative social media posts and campaigns. Follow up with DMs, tags, comments and any other direct communications from audiences and collaborators in a timely manner
• Use analytics tools to gauge the success of campaigns
• Expand audience and outreach on social media platforms
• Update posts to include relevant keywords for search engine optimization
• Attend bi-monthly group meetings (primarily online, unless stated otherwise)
• Follow local events that require social media coverage

Qualifications

• Previous experience with social media engagement and digital content creation
• Self-motivated, displays leadership, excellent written and verbal communication skills and time management skills
• Knowledge and interest in climate change and sustainability-related issues at local and global levels
• Work well independently and are comfortable working with a team on an online and remote setting
• Photography skills will be an additional asset!
• Individuals with marketing, communications, advertising, or media backgrounds and/or experience are asked to include their portfolio alongside details of experience on their application
