Through our independent Expert Panel, GreenPAC endorses candidates from all major political parties running in a given election who have demonstrated environmental leadership. We then promote them and encourage Canadians to support their election through donations of money, time, and other support. We have run five endorsement campaigns where we have felt we could make a difference: Federal (2015, 2019), Manitoba (2016), B.C. (2017) and Ontario (2018). This work is expected to be conducted in early to mid-July.
  2. Research and Synthesis: You will help us to research candidates’ record of environmental leadership and to synthesize and roll up candidate information for consideration by our independent Expert Panel. This work is expected to be conducted mid-July to mid-August
  3. Mobilizing support for Endorsees: Depending on the timing of the snap election, you will work with our Election Lead and other volunteers to help us to build awareness of and support for endorsees campaigns, through using tactics such as phone banks and social media. This work is expected to be conducted in late-August or early-September.

Notes: Depending on your interest and availability, we’d welcome your input in one or all of the areas above. Because the timing of the election is uncertain, the timelines outlined above may change.

About GreenPAC
GreenPAC is a non-partisan, non-profit organization working to build and support environmental leadership in elected office. We do this in three ways:

  1. By helping elect and support environmental leaders of all major parties running for office and through candidate endorsement campaigns;
  2. Through our Parliamentary Internship for the Environment program, which places interns with MPs to support environmental leadership on Parliament Hill and helps prepare young Canadians for careers as environmental champions;
  3. By supporting a network of Every Day Advocates - individuals and community groups across the country - to advocate for environmental leadership from elected officials, including through town halls and 100 Debates on the Environment.

GreenPAC is an ambitious, curious and creative group with a good sense of humour. We want our work to be rewarding and fun. We currently operate as a virtual team, with staff in British Columbia, Ontario, Manitoba and Québec.

Additional Information

GreenPAC supports and encourages diversity and equity, and we are committed to making staff and contract positions accessible and welcoming to all potential team members, regardless of ethnicity, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender or identity.
We recognize that GreenPAC’s team and Board do not currently represent the diversity of the Canadian population and that this is a significant hindrance to our strength as an organization. GreenPAC is fully committed to changing this reality and is examining how our programs can contribute to the fight against systemic racism and oppression in Canada.
