Through our independent Expert Panel, GreenPAC endorses candidates from all major political parties running in a given election who have demonstrated environmental leadership. We then promote them and encourage Canadians to support their election through donations of money, time, and other support. We have run five endorsement campaigns where we have felt we could make a difference: Federal (2015, 2019), Manitoba (2016), B.C. (2017) and Ontario (2018). GreenPAC is preparing for the possibility of a federal election in response to signals one could be called in early August.
We are seeking volunteers to help us run a strong endorsement campaign by supporting in the following areas:
Notes: Depending on your interest and availability, we’d welcome your input in one or all of the areas above. Because the timing of the election is uncertain, the timelines outlined above may change.
Why get involved?
Volunteering on this project will provide you with concrete and demonstrable experience working on a national, non-partisan election campaign. You’ll learn about environmental leadership in Canadian politics and your efforts will help ensure more environmental leaders are elected.
GreenPAC is a non-partisan, non-profit organization working to build and support environmental leadership in elected office. We do this in three ways:
GreenPAC is an ambitious, curious and creative group with a good sense of humour. We want our work to be rewarding and fun. We currently operate as a virtual team, with staff in British Columbia, Ontario, Manitoba and Québec.
GreenPAC supports and encourages diversity and equity, and we are committed to making staff and contract positions accessible and welcoming to all potential team members, regardless of ethnicity, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender or identity.
We recognize that GreenPAC’s team and Board do not currently represent the diversity of the Canadian population and that this is a significant hindrance to our strength as an organization. GreenPAC is fully committed to changing this reality and is examining how our programs can contribute to the fight against systemic racism and oppression in Canada.
