BOARD POSITIONS

Needed: Board members
Type: nonprofit board members / unpaid
Organization: IMBA Canada
Location: anywhere in Canada

IMBA Canada (IMBAC), a national not-for-profit organization that advocates for mountain bike and trail access across the country, is seeking volunteers to join its board of directors. More information on IMBAC is available at imbacanada.com.

Board members are actively involved in organizational growth and operations and are expected to attend monthly board meetings. Board members are also required to contribute to the growth and sustainability of the organization outside of those times by volunteering their time, ideas, and efforts toward common goals.

At IMBA Canada, we are committed to fostering a more inclusive and diverse mountain biking community. Recognizing that mountain biking has not been welcoming to individuals from all backgrounds and cultures, we are actively working to change that. As part of our efforts, we have recently reviewed our board's capacity and diversity and are now seeking new board members with a wide range of lived experiences and skill sets. We strongly encourage applications from BIPOC communities, members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, female-identifying and non-binary individuals, and anyone who has historically been underrepresented or excluded from the mountain biking community. We believe that by embracing diversity and inclusivity, we can create a more vibrant and welcoming space for all mountain biking enthusiasts.

We are seeking individuals who have experience with accounting, fundraising, human resources, legal expertise, board governance and marketing. Additional connections to local mountain biking communities are also being sought but are not a requirement for application.

Monthly board meetings are held virtually and board members reside all across Canada.

The nominating committee will accept applications until April 30th 2024. Those interested in applying are invited to send their resume to board@imbacanada.com . Please include a cover letter that details why you’re interested in becoming an IMBAC board member, how you see yourself helping to advance the organization’s goal and presence across Canada, and how much time per month you have to commit to supporting IMBAC’s mission.
