Looking for a fun summer gig?

Live Life In Tents is looking to hire two easy-going and fun river guides for the summer season. As River guides, you will mainly be tasked with making sure our kayak/sup tours and river tubing operations are running smoothly for a seamless client experience. We will offer on-site training for Paddle Canada Certificates if needed. You will be working outside every day in a partially fast-paced environment. You will be assisting clients in and out of the river, coordinating pick-ups, getting equipment ready for the day, and leading guided tours when needed. It's a fun job at a fun spot with a small team of adventure people doing adventure things!

Details:

  • Full & Part-time available June - September
  • Rates start @ $17/hr+ based on experience and certifications.
  • Local accommodations are available but extremely limited.
  • This position is for River Guides however, we may need secondary hiking guides for our multi-day trips if that is of interest to you.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Greet guests when they arrive at check-in for tours.
  • Fit guests for PFDs.
  • Brief clients on river safety before departing on the river and check waivers are signed.
  • Maintain a clean workspace and clean and maintain gear as needed.
  • Lead guided tours.
  • Daily cleaning and basic maintenance of vehicles.
  • Shuttling clients to and from the river.
  • Assist guests on and off the river.

Requirements

  • Experience is a plus but not required. On-the-job training is provided.
  • Ability to manage your time efficiently.
  • Basic Red Cross First Aid or Wilderness First Aid. *Course offered locally in June if needed at your expense.
  • Work well unsupervised and independently.
  • Work well with others and be able to problem-solve.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Ability to lift at least 25 lbs.
  • Handle basic maintenance and cleaning.
  • Ability to maintain a professional appearance and interact positively with guests when needed.
  • Hard worker.

Other things that are a plus:

  • Paddle Canada Kayak and/or Sup certification. *We offer training sessions in May if you do not have these already.
  • Swift Water Rescue Training certification and huge plus.
