TRANS CANADA TRAIL BOARD DIRECTOR
Position Type: Volunteer - The term of the Board appointment is three years and may be renewable for a second term of three years.
Location: The Board meets in person twice a year at locations across Canada, and virtually the rest of the year. Board members also serve on committees that meet virtually between quarterly Board meetings.
Start Date: Fall 2024
The Trans Canada Trail Nomination Committee, on behalf of the Board of Directors, is inviting applications and nominations of individuals for election to the Trans Canada Trail Board for the 2024-2027 term.
We are seeking an exceptional, forward-thinking director who cares deeply about this country to help deliver on our vision of everyone embracing the Canadian outdoors, connecting with one another, and experiencing the restorative power of nature along the Trail.
ABOUT US
The Trans Canada Trail (the Trail) is the longest recreational trail in the world, spanning over 28,000 kilometres on land and water. Linking three oceans – the Atlantic, Pacific, and Arctic – the Trail connects 15,000 rural, urban and Indigenous communities across every province and territory. It is a ribbon that connects Canada’s diverse landscapes, seasons, people and experiences, and fosters unity, collaboration and connectedness.
Trans Canada Trail (the organization) stewards this national trail in collaboration with local trail partners. With funding from the Government of Canada through Parks Canada and generous donors, Trans Canada Trail is the largest investor in trail infrastructure projects in Canada, supporting improvements, growth and enhancements for generations to come.
The Trans Canada Trail staff and board members are community-minded and believe in the benefits of outdoor recreation opportunities for all. ABOUT THE ROLE
Board directors play an important role in helping achieve the organization's long-term vision. You’ll work closely with the rest of the Board and the management team to support the strategic goals and objectives of Trans Canada Trail.

Type de poste : Bénévole - Le mandat d’un(e) administrateur(-rice) est de trois ans et peut être renouvelé pour un second mandat de trois ans.
Lieu : Le conseil d’administration se réunit en personne deux fois par an dans des lieux situés à travers le Canada, et virtuellement le reste de l’année. Les membres du conseil d’administration font également partie de comités qui se réunissent virtuellement entre les réunions trimestrielles du conseil d’administration.
Date d’entrée en fonction : Automne 2024
Le comité de nomination de Sentier Transcanadien, au nom du conseil d'administration, sollicite des candidatures et des propositions de personnes à élire au sein de son conseil d’administration de Sentier Transcanadien pour le mandat de 2024-2027.
Nous sommes à la recherche d'un(e) directeur(-rice) exceptionnel(-le) visionnaire avec un attachement profond à ce pays pour nous aider à concrétiser notre vision, à savoir que chaque Canadien et Canadienne puisse profiter du plein air, se rapprocher les uns des autres et vivre l'expérience du pouvoir réparateur de la nature le long du Sentier.
À PROPOS DE NOUS
Le Sentier Transcanadien (le Sentier) est le plus long sentier récréatif du monde, s’étendant sur plus de 28 000 kilomètres sur terre et sur l’eau. Reliant trois océans (l’Atlantique, le Pacifique et l’Arctique), le Sentier rattache 15 000 communautés rurales, urbaines et autochtones dans chaque province et territoire. C’est un corridor qui relie les divers paysages, saisons, personnes et expériences du Canada et qui favorise l’unité, la collaboration et les liens.
Sentier Transcanadien (l'organisation) agit comme gardien du sentier pancanadien en collaboration avec des partenaires de sentiers locaux. Grâce au financement du gouvernement du Canada, par l’entremise de Parcs Canada, et de généreux donateurs et généreuses donatrices, Sentier Transcanadien est le plus grand investisseur en infrastructures de sentiers au pays, soutenant les améliorations et la croissance du Sentier pour les générations à venir.

Les directeurs(-rices) du conseil d'administration jouent un rôle important dans la réalisation de la vision à long terme de l'organisation. Vous travaillerez en collaboration étroite avec le reste du conseil d’administration et l'équipe de gestion pour soutenir les buts et objectifs stratégiques de Sentier Transcanadien.
Le conseil d’administration de Sentier Transcanadien est responsable de surveiller la gestion globale et l’orientation stratégique de l’organisation. Plus précisément, le but et la mission du conseil d’administration de Sentier Transcanadien sont de :
